As we welcome 2014, I’d like to thank you for your support! Without wonderful readers who come back day after day to read my posts… Without readers who share my posts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest…. Without your comments…. And most importantly, without your friendship… This blog wouldn’t matter!
This site launched on April 11, 2012 with a simple post, “Where do you want to go?” (Take a peek if you want — if for no other reason than to see how my writing has improved since then!) By the end of that year, 5,066 people had visited my site. So far in 2013, 29,803 people have stopped in. THANK YOU!!!!
I wondered… what brought people here. It turns out, y’all like to save money! You like to go to amusement parks. AND you like to eat! In case you missed them, here are the most popular Family Travels on a Budget blog posts of 2013.
Hotel Perks… Beyond the Free Breakfast! This handy post, written by my dear friend Kristl Story, highlights hotel perks at popular brands and in all price points. It’s a great resource for family travelers on any budget.
The Disney Planning Guide. A family vacation to the “happiest place on earth” is as popular as ever. As the parks grow ever-larger and the Disney company changes policies and prices, every family needs a great guide to plan a stress-free trip. I’ll be adding to the Disney Planning Guide in the next few months — adding a review of the MagicBands in February, 2014 and a feature on the new roller coaster in Fantasyland! Stay tuned.
The Busch Gardens Meal Deal: Is It Worth It? Budget family travel + theme parks + foods doesn’t always = frugal fun! We crunched the numbers to show how well it works — or in the case of Busch Gardens — doesn’t work.
Beating out Busch Gardens for the number two spot is my review of Sea World’s All Day Dining Deal. In my opinion, this dining plan is a great deal, especially if you arrive early and use it for breakfast too!
And finally…. the most popular post of 2013 is Money Saving Cruise Tips. My friend, Holly Woodard, helped compile this list, and it’s been quite popular.
In 2014, I will be using the newsletter more to share special offers and “insider info.” If you haven’t signed up for it yet, please do! I promise not to spam you — I won’t sell or share your email with anyone! EVER! It’s the best way to be alerted to new posts (weekly) and get great deals on travel and travel related “stuff” (twice a month at most).
