When someone says, “There’s been a change of plans,” I tend to cringe. “Change of plans” seems to signify something unpleasant is about to happen:
- Flight cancellations,
- Family reunions, rescheduled or relocated,
- When the boss says….
You get the idea! Sometimes, a change of plans can be a good thing! Checking into a hotel a few years ago, the desk clerk exclaimed, “Oh. They’ve
upgraded you.” Our little weekend away moved from a regular hotel room to a 2-bedroom suite. Sweet! (Yes, I did that on purpose.)
I never learned why, but really. Who cares why? Just enjoy it. Another time at a car rental place, the clerk appreciated my polite children so much that she upgraded us for free… from a car to a brand new van! NICE!
Announcing a Change of Plans for Family Travels on a Budget! (A good change!)
Since day one, I have wanted this blog to be something readers enjoy and trust. That’s not changing! I hope the content here is both informative and entertaining (at least on some level). I will continue to provide relevant savings information and fabulous travel tips!
To do even better going into our second year, we are making two changes.
Change One: A professional blog redesign.
Family Travels on a Budget is growing up, and I won’t pretend that I have done a good job setting things up. The blog redesign will make it easier for you to find the information you want and it will look better too! If you can’t find what you want, I’m not providing the best service. I hope you’ll like it.
Kind of like a hotel remodel. We are remodeling to serve you better! 🙂
Change Two: A move from email post notifications to a weekly newsletter.
I get too much email. I’m guessing you probably get too much email… So, I’m moving to a weekly newsletter that will include links to the posts for the week (please visit between newsletters) instead of sending a daily post update. If you follow me on Facebook, Google+ or Twitter, I’ll be linking to daily posts to them. 🙂
Also, with a newsletter (the best of the best of the change of plans), I can send you links to discounts. I’ll include a section on discounts every week. When you’re planning travel, they’ll be right there for you. No more need to search posts to find the links!
Sometimes a change of plans is a good thing! This is certainly one of those times.
So what are you waiting for? Join in as we make a change of plans!
Sign up for posts by email. I will switch to the newsletter format in a couple weeks, but if you sign up now, you won’t have to remember to do it later! 🙂
Follow Family Travels on a Budget on Facebook to get up to the minute post information — and some fun conversation too!
It’s been a great first year for Family Travels on a Budget! I look forward to year two, with the exciting change of plans, it will be even more fun! What do you think?
